Born in West Virginia Pastor Armistead grew up in the greater Columbus, Ohio area. He attended Columbus Public Schools where he graduated from Linden McKinley High. He received his calling in 1997; he was licensed and ordained to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 2002. His hunger and desire to be enriched intellectually and spiritually was led by Pastor C. Dexter Wise, while attending Faith Ministries school of Theology under the leadership of Pastor C. Dexter Wise.

May of 2004 was when the vision of True Love Ministries was manifested. With a practical, yet insightful and charismatic preaching style, Pastor Armistead is dedicated to spreading the good news of the gospel to everyone he meets. Pastor Armistead is married to his lifelong sweetheart, Kristy. They have four beautiful children, Sherria, Simone, Syrai, and Sherwin Jr.
